what is taurine
What is taurine? Taurine is a nonessential amino acid found naturally in the body and in foods (mainly in animal protein). Its name is derived from Bos Taurus (ox bile) which was first isolated more than 150 years ago. Taurine differs from most of the typical amino acids, as it is not fused into proteins, but exists as a free amino acid in most animal tissues.
